Thank You

I’m thankful for all the people who’ve supported me these last couple of years. Things haven’t always been perfect, there’s been a lot of ups and downs. Without your support, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today.

Thank You.

Thank You

Happy New Year 2016

I’m very thankful for the lessons, experiences, and blessings I received on 2015. I am thankful to have made it this far with good health, a loving family, and a life full of happiness, love and harmony.

As I have entered a new year, I like to look back at this past year and think about what I like, don’t like so I can making changes accordingly. Overall, 2015 was a great year where I was able to grow personally and professionally. Even though some events may seem as setbacks, failures, or misfortunes, I believe my life is getting aligned with what I’ve always wanted.

On 2015, I was able to experience becoming a parent, one of the best feelings in life. I decided to quit my full time office job so I could work from home and be able to spend more time with my son. I was able to manage working from home/coffee shop while becoming more efficient on my production. Not only that, but I was able to make a full gradual transition from working for someone at the beginning of the year to working for myself by the end of the year. Not everything went as planned, but it has worked well this far. We were able to do a little bit of travel as a family, something I want to continue doing. One thing that excites me the most is that I was able to make progress on the expansion of a couple of ventures I have going on. 2016 will definitely be a big year of calculated risk and hard work.

On 2016, I have many goals for both personal and professional growth. 2015 set the start of many things, I hope I am able to find the strength and ability to continue while making the right choices. 2015 introduced me to parenthood, one of my priorities is to be a great dad while being able to maintain my personal sanity because of all the ambitions I have set out for myself to do. But as always, I like to aim high because even if I fail I will still be in good shape :)

Below I will list a few of my goals, but I must say, keeping / maintaining my good physical and mental health are always a priority, those are no longer goals for me.

Here are only a few of my personal goals

  • Find the courage – I will make big decisions this year, I hope I find the courage
  • Stay humble
  • Ask for help – I can no longer try to do everything on my own, if I want to grow I must do this.
  • Ignore the critics – Become better at ignoring haters
  • Say NO more often – reject people that waste / don’t value my time
  • Decorate my home office
  • Clean out / decorate my garage
  • Buy SUV paid in full
  • Travel as a family at least twice this year, at least one being a new destination

Here are only a few of my professional goals

  • Speak at more than two events
  • Join the board / committee for a professional group
  • Network
  • Write and Publish first E-Book
  • TCB – Efficiency and process. Focus on increasing profit margins while maintaining growth.
  • Pitch business to Calling all Dreamers
  • Start 2-3 new ventures
  • Learn Real Estate Investing

Happy New Year 2016

Dejame

Dejame (Version Banda) – Gerardo Ortiz

I listened to Gerardo Ortiz’s new album as soon as he released it and I really enjoyed listening to several of his songs. Dejame became one of my favorites since the first time I listened to it. Al though there are two versions of this song, Gropo and Banda, the Banda version is more to my liking.

In the past I’ve written the English translation of songs I really like, and this song just became one of them :)  My translation is based on the words, context, and what I believe the message of the song is.

Dejame – Leave Me (English Translation)

Forget about everything
My decision is definitive
I can’t stand when you speak of
Something that is already lost

I do not remember
Even the smallest detail of our past
I’m asking you
Don’t think about coming back
We are no longer friends

Forget all our memories
All the times we had
Make sure you forget
when you and I met
Do not tell me you’ve changed
that everything will get better
Because it has already been too long
Since the day you forgot about me

Leave me
I do not feel no remorse or resentment
And you know well that you are no longer important to me
And you also know
That it’s been long since I forgot about you
This is my last message
I think you can understand

Leave me
Your attempt has failed
I do not believe your story
Do not waste your time
I’m really sorry
There is nothing left to do
I can do it on my own now
I think you can understand
Leave me

Dejame – Spanish Lyrics

Borra todo de tu mente
Esto ya es definitivo
No soporto que platiques
Algo que ya esta perdido

No recuerdo

Give time and love to family

LoveFamily
#30WaysToGive

While I don’t expect my actions will change the world, I do believe that it has and will continue making a difference. My goal with the #30WaysToGive project was to figure out ways of how we can give back to my community, while encouraging and inspiring others to do the same.
In a time like today where many people share injustices, racism, greed and negativity on social media, I challenged myself to do opposite – share my stories of giving time, love, positivity and hope. I’m thankful to have achieved my goal and for finding people that shared their support.

My #30 and last post for #30WaysToGive is this:

Give time and love to family. I was able to spend the holiday and weekend with family and I appreciated every moment of it. Any difference we want to achieve in our community, we must first find it within ourselves (post #23), and then within our home.

Christmas Morning

#29 Christmas Morning

Got up early to drop off bags of new socks and help with the setup to give clothing and food for the homeless.
A couple of hundred of homeless people were able to get a warm beverage, food, and clothes this Christmas morning.
While I was trying to keep my hands and toes from feeling frozen I saw a homeless lady with no socks. That moment not only made me feel blessed for what I have, but also that I’m able to give back.

#28 Rain Poncho

I delivered food and a small gift to a homeless man that sometimes sits near the salon. The other day I saw him trying to cover himself from the rain, I’m sure this will help.

Although he sleeps in the streets, he has never asked me nor have I ever seen him ask for money. Every time he sees me he has greeted me with a good morning or a good evening. Very polite person.

#27 Dear Mama

Throwback! One of the people that has given me the most without asking for anything in return. I’m going to schedule a dinner date with my mother, not as a Christmas gift, but just because.
